  陈诉标题:Thermochemical Conversion of Biomass Waste to Advanced Fuels and Materials 

  陈诉人简介: 

  Dr Xiaolei Zhang is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at University of Strathclyde. UK since July 2019. She received a Ph.D. degree from Royal Institute of Technology-KTH, Stockholm, Sweden in 2013, and worked as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at University of Alberta, Canada for 14 months. From January 2015 to June 2019, she worked at Queen’s University Belfast as a Lecturer (assistant professor) before joined University of Strathclyde in July 2019 as a Senior Lecturer under Strathclyde Global Talent Programme. Dr Zhang’s group is working on solid waste valorization through thermochemical conversion technologies and further upgrading. The final products of interest include fossil compatible fuel, fuel additives, and bio-chemicals. Dr Zhang has published 37 Journal papers in leading journals in the area of renewable energy, such as Green Chemistry, Applied Energy, Fuel, Renewable & Sustainable Energy etc. and she is currently leading several research projects from various funding bodies in the UK including EPSRC (The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council), Leverhulme Trust, and industry.   陈诉择要: 

  There is a global imperative to forward circular economy and, at the same time, to improve the efficiency of utilizations of natural, renewable, and waste resources. To date, various technologies for valorization of solid wastes into fuels and chemicals have shown commercial promise. Fully industrialization is yet to be achieved and the fundamental understanding of the conversion process is still lacking. Accordingly, the scope of this presentation is to fill this essential knowledge gap by mapping the chain of solid wastes to fuels and materials from a fundamental level based on multi-scale investigation methodologies. The talk also provides fundamental insights  of the conversion of these technologies, together with identifying key challenges for bio-fuels and bio-materials.
